Tackle Lanis returns despite pain
With his left forearm looking as if it is wrapped a gigantic marshmallow, UCLA strong-side tackle Aleksey Lanis returned to practice Tuesday in preparation for the Dec. 27 Emerald Bowl against Florida State. "I'm hoping it gets a little better and I get used to this cast," Lanis said. "I'm trying to keep my hand from being pushed back. My wrist is still a little tight, but it's been in a cast for the last two weeks." Lanis, a red-shirt freshman who started every game and was a second team CollegeFootballNews.com all-American, said the pain is something he must work through. But it is not the type of injury that should keep him out of the lineup.
