Crane, Kiel are Triple 'A' Award winners
Crookston High School seniors Elizabeth Crane and Alex Kiel have been selected to represent CHS in the Academics, Arts and Athletics Award (Triple "A" Award) program, said Tom Speltz, activities director and assistant principal at CHS.Established in 1988, the Triple "A" Award is sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League. The award goes to seniors who have a "B" or better grade point average and who participate in League-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities.Crane and Kiel both meet the criteria, and then some. .
U-Mary awards Shetler the Kevin Olson Basketball Scholarship
BISMARCK - The first annual Kevin Olson Basketball Scholarship will be awarded to Bill Shetler. He is a 5-foot-11 senior guard from Sturgis who averaged five points per game, one assist per game, and one rebound per game for the Marauders as a junior in the 2005-06 season. Shetler has a 3.4 cumulative GPA and is majoring in history/social behavioral science teaching. His parents are Joe and Cindy. Bill's brother Brad also attends U-Mary and is a member of the men's golf team. "Bill epitomizes what it means to be a Marauder," states U-Mary Head Basketball Coach Juno Pintar. "He is a great teammate and represents all the things that are right about college athletics. Bill has had to work hard for his opportunities. After playing junior varsity for a year, he fought to make the 12-man travel roster and has been one of our first guards off the bench the last two years.
HIT launches 2007 scholarship call
The charity is looking for individuals already working in the Scottish hospitality industry, or nearing completion of a further or higher education course, that will benefit from the experiences the programme provides. On offer are working trips to the Disney Institute in Florida and Duabi, as well as craft courses and the chance to work at the country's most prestigious establishments, learning directly from the experts. Rahul Bose launches scholarship scheme
Actor, director, writer, social activist and national-level rugby player — Rahul Bose has donned several roles. On Tuesday, he unveiled his latest project — an ambitious plan to take promising children from the remote Andaman and Nicobar Islands to good residential schools in India. The English, August actor announced the setting up of a foundation to administer the Andaman and Nicobar Scholarship Initiative that will provide scholarships to six boys and girls from the islands, based on their scholastic proficiency and extra-curricular talent. The students, chosen for the next academic year, will go to the prestigious Rishi Valley School near Bangalore. For a project that will initially cover only six children, the foundation will spend a lot of money, around rupees two crores, in the next six years.

Egypt offers scholarships to Antiguan students
Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer has announced that his government has received support from the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt in its quest to educate the people of Antigua and Barbuda. “Today, the government of the Arab Republic of Egypt confirmed that they have allocated three post or under-graduate scholarships for Antiguan and Barbudan students to study in Egypt commencing in September 2007. Because of our excellent relations, they have also pledged to double the number of scholarships offered for the 2008 Academic year," Prime Minister Spencer stated. The scholarships being offered by Egypt are available in: finance and planning, international banking, special education, medicine, public health, information technology, accounting, engineering, communications, nursing, mathematics and music.
