HE Ross Memorial Scholarship Offered To Montana Students
Because of a generous contribution, Trinity Bible College is now offering a $4000 scholarship ($1000 per year for up to four years) for Montana young people who have the call of God upon their lives for ministerial and/or missionary service. After ministering as missionaries in Mongolia for ten years, Gary and Priscilla Ross are serving as Missionaries-in-Residence at Trinity Bible College. The Lord placed it upon their hearts to establish an endowed scholarship in memory of Garys grandfather, H. E. Ross. The purpose of the scholarship is to honor the ministry and godly life of Garys grandfather. H. E. (Henry Ellsworth) Ross was born September 23, 1886, on the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma. He traveled with his parents, whose bodies are buried in Plentywood, Montana, to northeastern Montana soon after the turn of the 20th century.
Study finds that rich retirees are the main losers from inflation
How would distribution of wealth change if the United States were to enter a period of inflation? A study from the December issue of the Journal of Political Economy finds that even mild inflation can lead to substantial redistribution of nominal assets from lenders to borrowers, specifically, the transfer of wealth from older, wealthier households to younger, middle-class households. "Inflation affects all nominal asset positions, not just cash positions," write Matthias Doepke (University of California, Los Angeles and National Bureau of Economic Research) and Martin Schneider (Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and New York University). "As a result we find that even moderate inflation leads to substantial wealth redistribution." Young, middle-class households have the largest ratios of net debt to net worth.
Student's joy at scholarship
STUDENT debt may not be such a problem for one student at university after she won a £10,000 scholarship to study at The University of Manchester. Kiran Horwich, 18, from Ealing Common, was awarded the prestigious £10,000 a year fund after passing a series of gruelling tests and interviews. She was eligible after securing top grades in her A Level exams in the summer. She told the Ealing Times: "It is amazing, it will be such a big help to me. "I haven't got the money yet but when I do I'll be having a huge party. "My family are really pleased, but my two older sisters are a bit jealous I think." .
